Homemade hummus for the win! I feel like hummus is truly one of the easiest things to make, and it saves a ton of money! I mean, a can of chickpeas is what, $1? Not only that, you're free to make your own flavors and combinations. This creamy hummus is filled with plant-based protein-packed chickpeas, tahini, fresh spices, splash of lemon, nutritional yeast, and healthy fats from the virgin olive oil. I love the slight 'cheese' flavor this has, but it's not too strong; its more of a smooth original flavor, with a hint of 'cheese'. All you need is a food processor or blender, and you're good to go! Serve alongside your favorites hearty veggies and crackers, or slather on a fresh slice of toast!
RECIPE
Prep time: 5 minutes
Serving size: 10
INGREDIENTS
1 can organic salt free chickpeas
2tbs tahini
2tbs olive oil
1tbs fresh lemon juice
2tbs water
1tbs nutritional
1 clove garlic
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Pink salt and black pepper to taste
METHOD
1. Add all ingredients {except water} to food processor and blend.
2. Slowly add in water as you go.
3. Blend until smooth and store in an air tight container in the fridge.
